Q. How does WorkSmart MD Billing obtain the information it needs to manage our billing and accounts receivable?
A. WorkSmart MD Billing suggests utilizing its secure faxing system to expedite revenue collection. At your preference we can also receive information via local courier or UPS.

Q. Can WorkSmart MD Billing handle clients anywhere in the country?
A. Yes. Since most transactions occur over the fax, computer, and mail, the client can be anywhere in the country. Regardless of where your office is, WorkSmart MD Billing is always available to meet your needs.

Q. Is WorkSmart MD Billing HIPAA Compliant?
A. Yes. HIPAA is a very serious issue, which we take very seriously. We have taken great efforts in developing a compliant office with password protected electronic data, encrypted emails, locked cabinets containing PHI and facsimiles, as well as procedures for patient complaints and documentation of policies and procedures.

Q. What are the fees for the WorkSmart MD Billing service?
A. For all current transactions WorkSmart MD Billing assesses a monthly fee that ranges between 5-7% of revenue collected and an initial setup fee that varies depending on the time and resources involved in setup.

Q. Why is there a setup fee?
A. WorkSmart MD Billing assesses a one-time setup that covers the direct costs of establishing your practice within our data systems. This includes setup for electronic claims processing, creating your patient database, and manual data entry of other practice specific information.

Q. Does WorkSmart MD Billing require a twelve-month contract?
A. WorkSmart MD Billing requires a ‘service agreement’ that outlines the services we will perform. We are confident that our services will exceed your expectations and do not require a twelve-month commitment.

Q. Where does payment go for the claims that are submitted?
A. All payments will go directly to your office. Upon receipt of a copy of the EOB (Explanation of Benefits), check or other payment documentation should be faxed to our office to guarantee the accuracy in patient accounting.

Q. How often will patients receive statements?
A. Once WorkSmart MD Billing has posted cash payments for the month patient statements will be generated and mailed to each patient that has a cash balance due. Patients will receive past due notices for 30, 60, and 90 days past due. After 'soft collection' attempts have been exhausted, WorkSmart MD Billing recommends turning the account over to a collection agency.

Q. What reports does WorkSmart MD Billing provide?
A. WorkSmart MD Billing will provide a daily/weekly summary of all claims submitted and monthly reports that show total revenue billed and collected, an overall practice analysis, an aging report, and referrals by physician. Customized reports are also available upon request.

Q. How soon can WorkSmart MD Billing get started?
A. WorkSmart MD Billing can initiate its services immediately. Setup normally requires an average time of 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the size of the medical practice. A more accurate time-frame can be provided once we have completed our complimentary analysis of your practice.
